Embedded Linux Software Engineer

At the moment we are looking for experienced Embedded Linux Software Engineer to strengthen our Tampere team. You would start your journey in one of our most interesting and challenging projects.

As a software engineer you will be responsible for SW integration and configuration for the new hardware system in close collaboration with your colleague engineers. You will participate from higher level SW stack components integration down to lower layer SW components. You will also get in touch with the new RISC-V system-on-chip (SoC) SW as provided by SoC vendor. New customer requests may offer an opportunity to design and implement new software. This gives the chance to drive your SW pull request through the open sourcing process.

Working with us is uncomplicated, there’s a good team spirit, low-hierarchy and nonexistent bureaucracy. Our way of working is flexible too, many of our team work remotely from home with visits to our office from time to time when needed. This role is equally challenging, and as such we offer a very good compensation. We would hope that you are able to start as soon as possible but we are of course ready to be flexible also 😊


The software professional we are looking for should be comfortable with at least some of the following:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Relevant experience in software engineering, Kernel, Kernel-subsystems and operating systems concepts with Linux OS.
  • Good hands-on coding experience in C/C++ and embedded programming/debugging.
  • Experience with software development tools on Linux platform (GitHub, Git, JTAG debugger).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Docker and other container management solutions.
  • Experience with development of software analysis tools would be an added advantage (system performance evaluation).
  • Interest in low-level software development (firmware, U-Boot).
  • Interest in system-on-chip (SoC) HW architecture.
