Systems Test Engineer in Abu Dhabi

At the moment we are looking for Systems Test Engineer to strengthen our team in UAE.

Location: This position is based in UAE and remote work is not possible.

General Activities:

Responsible for conducting systems tests on secure autonomous systems –using augmented, virtual and model space. This includes planning and executing flight test plans for new software features, electronics, sensors, and payloads in simulation and on the real drone.
Working with experts from external, internal and facilities teams to develop the environment to conduct the experiments.

Functional Activities:

Enable the Systems Testing Team to conduct and measure experiments.
Perform hands-on mechanical and electrical integration of new hardware components on the UAVs for testing.
Create thorough test plans that reflect the actual working conditions of the UAVs, using innovative tools and programs.
Execute these test plans and create detailed documentation and reports of the testing activities.
Write scripts to automate tests as much as possible.
Write programs to improve the existing software infrastructure of the autonomous UAV, in areas like obstacle avoidance, path planning etc.
Closely work with secure autonomous hardware, firmware and software teams in developing the environments for experiments.
Facilitate E2E testing of Secure Autonomous and Phone Platforms.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Industry / Domain:

Autonomous UAV systems experience – design and development of complex embedded systems like Phones, SOC’s and Networking products
Applications and Framework experience – research and/or commercialization of embedded solutions
Broad understanding of complex systems, protocols, software, hardware, cryptography

The professional we are looking for should have:

5+ years test and verification experience in research and/or advanced technology.
Experience in ROS/ROS2, Gazebo or game engines like Unity and Unreal is essential.
Good knowledge of UAV hardware, like Pixhawk, DJI and open-source software like Ardupilot and PX4.
Hands-on experience in C/C++/Python, a clear understanding of OS fundamentals, strong computer science skills and a passion for keeping solutions safe.
Experience in integrating, operating, and tuning autopilots on a variety of unmanned vehicles is a plus.
Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills.
Ability to learn new skills and operate in a fast-paced and changing environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
