Unikie has been providing service management for M-Files since August 2016. The project supports implementation of the M-Files system with customers. M-Files has been very satisfied with the work of the Unikie team.

M-Files is a provider of intelligent data and content management software. With the introduction of M-Files, companies achieve significant business benefits, as information can be found much better while taking data protection into consideration. Information management processes are also analyzed and modeled so that everyone who needs information can find and access it quickly. Unikie professionals are helping M-Files maintain and develop its service using the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) process.

Unikie has been providing service management for M-Files since August 2016, when senior systems and training specialist Sami Lakaniemi started in the project. The project supports implementation of the M-Files system with customers and models the metadata structures of business relevant information. Metadata enrichment and customer-specific solutions are also part of the service.

The work also includes integrations with CRM and ERP systems as well as other systems containing business information utilizing e.g. REST interfaces. The Vault Application Framework is used to create more advanced special solutions and functional customer specific extensions. “Technically, the flow of information has been good throughout the project. The most interesting part of the project is working with a wide scope of customers and modeling the metadata structure in M-Files to support each company in its daily business”, Sami says. “The complexity of systems and legacy issues make the job challenging. You need to be highly aware of the entire ecosystem and know what you’re doing, as large customers have huge amounts of data and extensive structures. Fortunately, you can easily spar different solution models with M-Files’ own experts, and they are more than willing to advice you at a very low threshold if needed”, Sami continues.

In the future, he also wants to focus his skills on training and coaching clients and experts, as his knowledge on information management has accumulated extensively. M-Files has been very satisfied with the work of the Unikie team.
