WE ARE GOING THE DISTANCE

Unikie was a major contributor in a project generating a community hosted LTE network. The created network consisted of two base stations that delivered 4G coverage across more than eight square kilometers (8 km²) of an agricultural farm.

The connectivity enabled the farmer to use 4G data and voice servicess as well as Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity to automate irrigation systems.

Community Hosted Networks enable connections in remote places where public networks aren’t available and would not be cost-efficient. Private networks also increase security and decrease interference from external users.

The use of a high speed private network allows more efficient gathering and use of data – even data that was previously unattainable. Data can be gathered not only from machines standing still but also from machines that are moving. Having the network entirely on-premises makes this solution highly reachable, efficient and secure.
