Unikie, a pioneer in software development and innovation, is delighted to announce its membership in BVL (Bundesvereinigung Logistik), a nonprofit association dedicated to advancing logistics and supply chain management.
This collaboration reflects Unikie’s commitment to driving innovation and optimizing solutions within the logistics industry.
“We are proud to be part of the BVL network of people who are enthusiastic of the logistics and looking all the time ways how to optimize the solution. We in Unikie share the same vision as we are addressing critical industry challenges such as driver shortages, increasing handling volumes, limited space, sustainability, and growing demand to reduce operational costs, and enabling completely new types of logistical processes with our Unikie Marshalling Solution (UMS)” said Vesa Kiviranta, Chief Business Officer of Technology Solutions at Unikie.
Unikie Marshalling Solution is designed to increase the efficiency of vehicle logistics, such as car logistics on factory premises, bus depots, last mile logistics operations, rental car fleets and more, by automation of driving operations. The key idea behind improved logistic solutions is to remotely plan and control the movement of multiple vehicles in real time. UMS builds on standard based vehicle controls (ISO 23374/12768), wireless connections, in infrastructure installed sensors, advanced algorithms and real-time edge computing for centralized, accurate and fast vehicle control and thus keeping the vehicle costs down.
The synergy between Unikie and BVL extends beyond a shared vision; it’s about leveraging collective expertise and networks to drive tangible outcomes. For Unikie, being part of the BVL ecosystem opens doors to a vast community of stakeholders across various logistics segments. It’s a convergence of minds, where insights are shared, and collaborations are forged to shape the future of logistics.
“Unikie’s unique strength is that UMS functions with any vehicle regardless of brand, enabled by the standard interface. In logistics, brand-agnostic functionality and standardization are essential for operating all vehicles seamlessly. Our target is to enable unparalleled efficiency and scalability, a smooth traffic flow, reduced congestion, and a minimized environmental impact of logistics operations in any industry while spearheading digitalization of logistical chains,” said Unikie’s Ilkka Harjunpää, Director of Business Development, Solutions, Country Manager, Germany.
“We are delighted to add Unikie to our network. Unikie joining the BVL aligns our shared vision for logistics excellence. Unikie brings to the table its Unikie Marshalling Solution (UMS), which is an innovation in logistics, offering brand-agnostic functionality and standardization for diverse vehicle fleets,” said Christoph Meyer, Managing Director of BVL.
Unikie, founded in 2015, is at the forefront of software development and innovation, specializing in edge computing, AI, and machine learning solutions.
