During the summer 2021 Unikie employed 14 summer interns to different positions around Unikie. Summer interns were supporting different teams, and helping for example Unikie’s people, finance, marketing and recruiting teams in different tasks.
During the two-week internship at Unikie, the summer interns have been a great help in general office related tasks. They also assisted Unikie’s recruitment team by helping in the management of job applications in the applicant tracking system and by responding to some of the applications. In addition, the summer interns have been searching for suitable recruitment events for Unikie to participate during the upcoming year and some of the interns have also been assisting Unikie’s customer teams in ongoing projects.
The internship has matched the expectations quite well, and all the summer interns agree that the past two weeks have been nice and educational.
“I’ve left with a positive image about Unikie. The company works well, and the work environment has been quite relaxed. I can also see that the company is international since everyone are speaking English”, one of the summer employees says.
For some of the summer interns, working at Unikie was one of their first work experiences, so the internship has provided a better understanding of what it’s like to work in an office environment and improved their computer skills. On the other hand, some of the interns had already more work experience, and they had the chance to be a part of Unikie’s customer projects and develop their skills in software testing.
The employees have enjoyed the summer work but sometimes the tasks might have been a bit challenging and required proactive attitude. Fortunately, a day at Nokia driving track brought some change of scene to the long days in front of their computers. Here the summer employees got a chance to get to know each other and Unikie’s operations a bit better and hear more about Unikie’s self-driving vehicles. All the summer interns also got a chance to take a ride with the autonomous car.
