Unikie and Rimedo Labs have partnered to advance the development of AI-RAN and Open RAN. The collaboration focuses specifically on the AI-powered rApps, xApps, and dApps.

AI-RAN is anticipated to become the primary network platform for Physical AI. As a global provider of embedded software engineering, Unikie delivers Physical AI solutions across industrial, automotive, logistics, telecom, and defence sectors. Examples include multimodal sensing, autonomous industrial systems, automated vehicle marshalling, Edge AI solutions for industrial and defense domains, intelligent drone technology, and all the major connectivity and mobile communication stacks. Today, Unikie’s expertise covers the full device, far/near edge to cloud continuum – intersecting directly with the AI-RAN.

“By combining Unikie’s integration and commercialization capabilities with Rimedo Labs’ years of research in RAN automation and its broad portfolio of algorithms, we can turn advanced AI-RAN concepts into practical solutions for network operators. Our collaboration creates a strong foundation for bringing intelligent, non-RT, near-RT, and RT (Real-Time) RAN applications to market and supporting the next generation of connected systems,” stated Mariusz Rudnicki, Telecom & EdgeAI Director of Business Development at Unikie.

The collaboration with Rimedo Labs focuses on the dApps and the E3 interface. The dApps/E3 architecture brings real-time, third-party applications closer to the heart of the RAN, enabling AI to use Layer 1 and Layer 2 data where radio decisions are made. By running near the distributed unit (DU), these applications can help reduce communication delays, while E3 provides a defined way to access RAN data and control functions. Together, they open new opportunities for Mobile Network Operators and Independent Software Vendors to develop, monitor, and optimize RAN processing.

Rimedo Labs specializes in providing high-quality consulting, implementation, and R&D services in the field of modern wireless systems, currently focusing on AI-RAN, Open RAN, 5G, and beyond. As a software provider, Rimedo Labs delivers customized xApps and rApps for RAN Intelligent Controllers and is actively expanding into the dApp space. The core technical expertise encompasses algorithms for RAN optimization & energy saving, alongside solutions designed to ensure the security and resilience of mobile networks.

“Rimedo Labs is excited to partner with Unikie to bring advanced RAN algorithms to market as practical, deployable solutions for mobile network operators. Developing RAN features as Apps for 5G and 6G systems is what we do best, and with Unikie on board, these Apps will have a faster path from the lab to live operator networks. We look forward to turning this collaboration into real-world value for operators,” said Marcin Dryjanski, CEO at Rimedo Labs.

As a recent example of the cooperation between Rimedo Labs and Unikie, the parties have co-developed a Jamming Detection & Mitigation dApp on Nvidia Aerial-based architecture. In this work, Rimedo Labs brought its algorithm, and Unikie integrated it into their dApp/E3 framework. The companies will be presenting a joint demonstration at the AI-RAN Alliance All-Member Meeting, taking place on 11-12 November 2026 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The event is a great opportunity to interact with the ecosystem, collaborate, and shape what’s next for AI RAN.
