Ville Ilves to strengthen Unikie’s internationalisation and software licencing business

Software technology company Unikie has appointed Ville Ilves as Chief Business Development Officer to develop the company’s international business and strengthen its software licencing expertise, effective August 1, 2021.

”Unikie’s infrastructure-to-vehicle (I2V) technology for real-time external vehicle and process control is now at the commercialisation stage. Ville brings solid expertise in product-based software business, along with an extensive network from across the global automotive industry. In addition, Ville’s experience with international delivery chains will help us further develop our delivery capacity abroad. Our strong team will be even stronger as we move determinedly toward our goals,” states Unikie CEO Seppo Kuula.

Ilves is moving to Unikie from Rightware, where he held executive positions since 2010. In 2014 he established Rightware’s operations in the United States, and in 2018 he took the helm as the company’s CEO.

“I am thrilled to join one of Finland’s most prominent growth companies. Unikie has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, and I believe this is only the beginning! In addition to building a successful service business, the company has developed technologies that hold major licencing potential,” Ville Ilves enthuses.

Unikie was founded in 2015 and is a technology company focusing on demanding device-edge-cloud software solutions. The company’s main segments include automotive, intelligent machines, industry 4.0, and secure communications. The spearheading product is Unikie AI Vision – a total solution, scalable to the global market, for autonomous driving (AD) and real-time process control.

Unikie is the third most rapidly growing technology company in Finland, with operations in Finland, Sweden, Germany, Poland, and the United States. Based on Unikie’s expertise and the international commercialisation of their technology solutions, the company aims to reach a turnover of nearly 50 million euros during this year. Capman Growth, Tesi, and Business Finland joined in on funding Unikie’s growth in late 2020.
